EXPERT INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

TO BE ASKED AFTER INTERACTING WITH THE AGENT (QIEZLI)

SAMPLE GROUP – PERFORMANCE ARTISTS AND AVATAR/AGENT CREATORS FROM THE ODYSSEY ISLAND COMMUNITY (SECOND LIFE).

QUESTIONS…

PLEASE ANSWER ANY OR ALL OF THESE QUESTIONS TO THE BEST OF YOUR ABILITY…

HOPEFULLY, YOU WILL BE OPEN TO FOLLOW-UP QUESTIONS VIA EMAIL…

To what degree did you feel that Qiezli appeared “sentient”?

SaveMe Oh: I don’t know what the word means but I sure felt sentient all the time I was near his square and round body

To what degree did you feel that Qiezli appeared “creative”?

SaveMe Oh: I didn’t noticed the Qiezli thing at all as I only watch the pure and natural beauty of myself when I am on my own screen.

To what degree did you feel that Qiezli appeared “autonomous”?

SaveMe Oh: Everybody in my neighborhood loses autonomy as I control them all.

Would you be surprised if I told you that Qiezli was not an agent (bot) but was manually controlled by a human?  If yes/no, why/why not?

SaveMe Oh: Would you be surprised if all the answers were manually calligraphated in rock found in the Egyptian desert?

To what degree did you view Qiezli as an agent, avatar or object? All? None?  Please explain what you thought and why you felt your designation is important.

SaveMe Oh: To what degree do you think the Qiezli thing get horny when I appeared as it almost crashed immediately.

If you noticed, Qiezli’s video textured prim-limbs…

SaveMe Oh: I never watch television.

A – Did you make any personal association(s) with Qiezli’s visual content? Did you recognize any of the content?  What associations came to mind?

SaveMe Oh: Associations that came to my mind were; what is that groupie Pyewacket doing here.

B – Do any of these associations help revive any aesthetic experiences you have had in the past or inspire you towards creating something new in the future?

SaveMe Oh: The question should be; how did SaveMe Oh inspire Jeremy Turner this time in creating something although it seems to turn out to be a hopeless case.

In what manner did Qiezli respond/interact with your actions?  Not at all? Too much? Responsive enough? Please explain in detail.

SaveMe Oh: Qiezli never respond or interact with me as I am far too quick for him.

Did the agent seem aware of your presence?

SaveMe Oh: When I am not present he is lost as a little baby.

Did you perceive Qiezli as an “artist”?  If yes/no, please explain why…

SaveMe Oh: Qiezli is not an artist but one of my groupies.

Did Qiezli resemble any other avatars/agents/objects/installations that you have seen in Second Life before?  If yes, please list them and why you feel there is a resemblance.

SaveMe Oh: In my inventory I have 1000 of items who look exactly the same like Qiezli, only much better build and managed.

In what ways do you think Qiezli should be improved?

SaveMe Oh: Quezli should have the character of for example Wirxli Flimflam and suicide before it goes wrong.

PLEASE LIST ANY OTHER COMMENTS YOU HAVE ABOUT INTERACTING WITH (OR SIMPLY EXPERIENCING) QIEZLI IN SECOND LIFE…

SaveMe Oh: A guy who writes this on facebook:

  • will zzz yet again…
  • is now preparing for the final project presentation at school…
  • is going to say hi to his cousin from England at the airport and then go to school to present his final project for class…
  • needzzz 2 zzz…
  • is going to take the skytrain home now…
  • is off to school…
  • is too zzzy to stay awake so will try and zzz through the night construction next door…and wake up before the official early morning construction taking place a couple of blocks away from my apartment…

Shouldn’t dare to ask these questions!
